THE BAJA DIVER GROUP.
Purpose:
The purpose of the Club is to promote SCUBA diving, provide underwater educational
programs and recreational activities. We hold monthly gatherings with marine-related
programs, arrange dive trips, sponsor water-related social activities and have social
gatherings for the whole family on a regular basis.
History:
This group was formed back in 1991 by Jesse Dean, born out of the desire to unite divers
and their families in an environment of friends sharing their passion for the Sea.
Meetings:
We will hold a friends and family gathering on the first Saturday of the month at 5:30pm at
the Barrett Jucntion cafe in Dulzura for an all you can eat fish fry, as well a Carne Asada
Beach Party each month weather permitting. All members are encouraged to become
involved in the planning of group activities.
Membership:
Membership in the group is free/membership in the club(training/travel benefits )has
dues and are 12 month memberships.
Active membership is open to certified divers. A non-diving spouse, significant other and
children are considered social members. They are welcome to participate in all social
events and to accompany a member diver on dive trips. To become a member, you must
complete a membership application, submit a copy of your certification card, sign a waiver
and pay dues. Membership dues are $65.00 for a single and $85.00 for a family, and are
active for 12 months from the date you sign up. (See our Membership Policies.)
As a member you will meet other divers who share your interest in the sport and the marine
environment. There is the opportunity to find a “buddy” for sea or land, and to learn about all
aspects of diving. Since our activities include the family, your non-diving spouse or
significant other need no longer feel left out when you talk about your SCUBA friends. Also,
you will receive our monthly newsletter, a membership packet and, best of all, have fun!! In
addition you will receive an EFR (CPR & First Aid) Course, Dan O2 or Dan REMO2 course
free(you pay for books and cert fee & you will get recerts for those who already have these
certs for free) as well as discount boat tickets local and multi-day trips and of course huge
savings on course prices from the start of your memebership.
Our Family:
Our family of underwater enthusiasts and family members are a unique group. We have the
wonderful experience of enjoying our Southern California underwater environment and we
also provide access to diving experiences around the state and other opportunities around
the world.
The reduced prices of these diving events in our organization is driven by the efforts of our
members.
We welcome your membership, but it's not the money we want, it's the friendship and
personal involvement on your part to make it work!
