The PADI Freediver Course is designed for beginners and advanced freedivers alike. Introduce yourself to a new skill or improve upon the skills you already have, the Freediver Course is for you.

Independent study, designed so that you can learn the academics at convenience or your home and busy schedule, the Freediver Course is dedicated to make you a comfortable and proficient freediver. After a review in the classroom to “fill in any blanks” and answer questions that may arrive, your freediving instructor will lead an in-depth pool session covering the essential of the sport.

We do offer a wide variety of courses plus a selection of specialty training courses such as equalization or advanced breathing workshops, as well as personal coaching. All courses are held in small groups with a maximum 4 students per instructor in open water sessions. Most courses include extensive 1 to 3-day clinics consisting of lectures, pool and open water sessions. Learn step-by-step at your own pace with an experienced freediving instructor following you at arm’s length on every dive. No prior experience required.

What will you learn?

The PADI Freediver course consists of three main phases:

  •  Knowledge development about freediving principles through independent study with the PADI Freediver Touch™ 

  • Confined water/Pool session to learn breath-hold techniques as well as static and dynamic apnea. Goal – static apnea of 90 seconds and dynamic apnea of 25 meters/80 feet.

  • Open water sessions to practice free immersion and constant weight freedives, plus proper buddy procedures as well as basic freediving rescue skills. Goal – constant weight freedive of 10-16 meters/30-55 feet.

  • Duration 2 ½ days.

  • Cost $399 per person (minimum 3 students)

  • Materials – Padi Freediver Touch digital course ($70)

  • Prerequisites – Minimum age 15 years 

  • Equipment needs – Wetsuit, Mask, Snorkel, Long-Blade Fins, Dive Computer/Watch all appropriate for freediving – call with questions (equipment rental available for additional fee.

Who should take this course?

Achieving a new freediving time or reaching a new depth is an incredible feeling. It satisfies that very personal desire to do your best and be proud of what you can accomplish. The PADI Advanced Freediver course is designed to fulfill that personal need to refine and improve your freediving skills, allowing you to progress slowly while learning how your body performs during apnea.

To enroll in a PADI Advanced Freediver course you must be at least 15 years old and have a PADI Freediver certification (or a qualifying certification from another freediver organization).

What will you learn?

The PADI Advanced Freediver course consists of three main phases:

  • Knowledge development about advanced freediving techniques and equipment. You’ll study independently using the PADI Freediver TouchTM (or your instructor may conduct class sessions).

  • Pool/Confined water session to learn stretching and relaxation techniques as well as refine static and dynamic apnea. Goal – static apnea of 2 minutes, 30 seconds (2 minutes for freedivers younger than 18) and dynamic apnea of 50 meters/165 feet (40 meters/130 feet for freedivers younger than 18)

  • Open water sessions to practice deeper free immersion and constant weight freedives, along with additional buddy procedures and rescue techniques. Goal – constant weight freedive of 20-24 meters/55- feet (15 meters/50 feet for freedivers younger than 18)

  • Duration 3 days

  • Cost $499 per person (minimum 3 students)

  • Materials – Padi Freediver Touch digital course ($70)
